Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

This is the only holiday I can think of, that the eve is better than the day it self.

We went out to the store for a few things and I think everybody must off to day and getting ready for the big night. Not sure why there's such a big hoop la over one year ending and a new year beginning, but we as Americans don't need a reason to have a party.

Then there's all the tradition that go with it,like do you have a New Year resolution.

Mark Twain said it best.
New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions.

Angela’s busy cooking the Black Eyed Peas for New Years day,you know its a tradition for good luck.

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.

New Years Eve is just a test for me,to see if I can stay awake till midnight.

My usual wake up time is 5:30am,but this morning I woke at 6:30am have to be at work at 7am,I must of turned it off sometime in the night. No problem since we’re closed anyway.

I left early and got home about 2:00,Angela was ready and waiting for me to go do some shopping.First we stopped at the Dollar General, she had her list of things for the house cleaning, dog treats, ect. Me I went to the snack area and picked up a few snacks for New Years eve. Next we went next door to the grocery store and picked up a few things that were on sale, got a big piece of meat to cook this weekend.

After we left the grocery store,we headed over to Target to get dog food. The dog food was on sale and we also got a $5.00 gift card for buying it,not bad.

Back home now Angela is fixing dinner and then its to the couch to watch TV.

It’s Monday or my Tuesday back to work today, not much going on because the church is really closed this week.

My crew is working three days this week to do some deep cleaning,we will get comp days later when the weather is nicer outside .I will get five extra days added to my time off this year.

The next holiday is coming “New Years” Angela is busy cleaning and getting ready for our guest to come for the weekend, you would think the pope was coming over..

Hope the weather holds out here, they are forecasting a little snow and the temp to drop.

I read blogs where people that are full time rving are still in cold areas of the US,that's crazy.I sit here looking out the window at snow and hate it.Can’t wait till we can get out if here to full time RVING and put my butt in the sand and my toes in the water.

I see we have our first follower, welcome aboard Gary hope you enjoy the trip..

We are having a blizzard here today, and man is it cold 14deg we are going to have 5 to 11 inch of snow when its all over.

We went over to my sister’s Christmas eve,it took a little longer then usual because of the snow. We were hoping to see my mom,she will be 84 on December 27 she lives with my brother about 30 miles from my sister.

My brother called and said they got about a mile from there home and had to turn around because of the ice building up on his wipers. So we went ahead and had dinner with my sister and her family.

Today we are  waiting to see if our grand kids can make it over for dinner and presents. Angela work all day yesterday cleaning and getting ready for them to come.

Got a call from my daughter Jessica, she said they  were not going to make it over the roads are in to bad shape.I think that was a good choice not to take the chance.

I did receive picture’s of the kids opening there presents.

Not Much Going On Here

Not much to report here, the weather has warmed up a little.Friday I went for my annual check up at the doctor, and then we did some grocery shopping not real exciting.
Staying cooped up in the winter is long and hard on a person that likes being outside doing things.
Saturday we just stayed inside,Angela did a lot of house cleaning and I work on
arranging my photos on the computer,Sunday is my Monday at work, its show day at a church thats when most the  congregation is there.
As I was going thru my photos I found alot of pictures of our 1977 Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer and the lake.More on all that another day.

The Kids Love The Snow

The winter storm came last night,it was the big news story of the week they act like it has never snowed here, the news started at 4am.

It was no big deal,a couple inches of snow with ice under it and real real real cold, its been around 11 degrees all day. But that did not stop me from going to work, there was not much going on there was no school because of the weather.I hung around till 12:30 and decided to go home. After lunch I took a little power nap and watched TV.

Our two younger kids Annie and Max loved the new snow they got in there back yard. Lady the older dog says she will just look out the window and watch the two young fools.

With days like this makes me wish I was in Mission,TX.

One day closer to our dream of full time RVING…

Saturday Cold Start

Angela got up before me about 5:30,it was cold so I tryed to stay in the warm bed but I could hear the dogs outside the door waiting for me to get up.I drug myself out at 6am opened the door to be greated by the three hounds.First one is Lady she is the oldest about 9 0r 10,next is Annie she is a 2 year old Lab that loves to retrieve all day long, next is Max he is our wild child loves to be into things I know he looks Sweet but look out he is hell on wheels.
Today we had to run some errands this morning so we had breakfast got dressed and headed out before the Christmas crowd got out.I don't do well in crowds, everybody is in a hurry to find that big bargains,I like a little slower pace can't wait to get RVing full time.
After the store shopping my son Blake (19) called and wanted to know if I would help him tow a truck he owns back to my house so I did.
Back home Angela wanted to watch tv and if course take a nap I watched a John Wayne movie and cook a frozen pizza. After dinner we watched a little more tv and went to bed.
I have to work Sunday thats my Monday,I'm a Facilities Manager for a large church in Plattewoods,MO a small berg of about 450 the church has over 2000 members. All and all Saturday was a good day.

Day 1 Stop Smoking

I have been thinking about quiting smoking for a long long long time and have tried many many many times. So today is Labor Day September 7,2009 and today is the day.I know I have to do this to survive and live a better life.Started smoking when cigarettes were 25 cents a pack that was a long time ago.I'm going to be 58 this February and have made a five year plan to start full time rving when I turn 62 or 63This is hard to stop smoking after 40 plus years and I know it will get better day by day.
