Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Need New Tires

Please watch the video.  There's a short commercial before it, but watch the video to the end.  Go check your tires now...!
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897

After watching the video I went out to check the date on the Tioga and found out the rear tire’s where 9 years old and the front where 5 years old.

I like most people just looked at the tread to tell what kind of of shape the tire’s are in.

After seeing the video it got my attention and I started shopping for some new shoe’s for the MH.

After looking around it looks like I can buy them cheaper off the internet than I can in a retail store. But I want to make sure of the manufacture date.

Do you know the date your tire’s were manufactured?

My Wonderful Life

1

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so Avanti garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ..... I will.
2
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
2
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face.
So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

2
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free.. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

Got The Itch

We have had our new to us Tioga almost two months now and have been camping twice.

It has just been to hot to go camping and end up sitting inside the RV with the a/c going.

We are getting a bad case of hitch itch.

It has gotten so bad  being cooped up in the house Angela and I have been getting on each other’s last nerve. This is what happened one day last week when I came home from work.

hot

I have been puttering around the RV fixing things up after all it is 23 years old and we don't want to look like the Clampett’s (Beverly Hillbillies) pulling into a camp ground with three dogs.

I put some new wheel covers on and it made quite a difference on the looks.

My Mom

Today is a sad and happy day for us as my mom passed away this morning at the nursing home she has been living at since April.

It is sad just for us that are left behind and it is a happy day for her as she had suffered with Alzheimer's for several year’s now and is now at peace and out of her own living hell she has been living in.

We will be busy for the next few day’s.

Mystery solved....
This is nature taking a break:
People living in Colorado Springs wondered why their rain water
Barrel was almost empty every day. They set up a couple cameras
And look what they caught on film ~ Isn't nature beautiful?

Absolutely priceless?

How long can a bear take a bath in my rain barrel?

As long as he wants to!

Live well, laugh often, love much!

Slow Week Here

We don’t have much to report here in the heat land or is that the heart land. For now we’ll call it the heat land.

Only worked two days this week because of the holiday last week,Angela spent her time cleaning up the motor home after our trip last week.

We can’t wait tell it cools off so we can hit more state parks here in our area,we have about 5 or 6 within 100 miles or so.

I guess the high light of our week is the grandkids came over for the weekend.

Guess we will just keep reading blogs from the lucky ones that our in cooler location.

Hope everyone has a good week and safe travel’s and take care of each other.

Back Home

We got on the road Friday about 9 am and made are way to The Lake Of The Ozark which is about 150 miles from our home.

With a few stops along the way like the place that is a must stop of any traveler the Wal-Mart in Warsaw,Mo. we arrived at the rv park a about 1pm set up camp in the tight quarters. I think once a year visiting friends is about all I could handle parked like this.Would you pay $18 per night?

It was so hot Friday about all you could do is sweat. Took Annie down to the water for a swim, the water was so warm it felt like bath water.

Saturday we hooked up with my sister and brother in-law and their kids and grand daughter, for a day of boating and playing in the water.

On the way out we stopped to have our picture taken.

Saturday evening a storm blew up and caught these two people in a canoe and they were having a hard time getting to shore.

We had a good visit with old and some new friend’s even though the camping spot was crummy we ate and drank way to much.

It’s was so hot Annie and Max just wanted to lay around and watch TV in the air.

I think they were in a hurry to go home as they watched every turn I made.

We made it home safe and sound.
