Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

WORK

I think I need to shorten my blog list that I read everyday. My work is starting to get in the way of blog and funny e-mail reading.

I have sat here all day and got nothing done but read blogs and e-mails so I was thinking maybe I should shorten the blog list.

The next question is witch one’s do I cut out? How do you choose such a thing? I love reading them all and dreaming about the day I’m free.

Today is the last day of the week for me anyway. So maybe I will start working more and less blog reading next week. YEA RIGHT

HOW  TO START A FIGHT
One  year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...
The next  year, I didn't buy her a gift.
When she asked  me why, I replied,
"Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"
And  that's how the fight started.....

PURGING

Friday morning we got up feeling better than we have in the last couple week.Thursday night it rained pretty hard all night so it must have gotten rid of all the junk in the air so breathing was a lot better.

Anyway Friday seemed as good a day as any to clean out the shed. It has been a few years scents it’s been done.

003

It wasn't to bad because this last spring my daughter came and cleared out all her stuff.I did have stuff up in the loft that’s been there for about 20 years. Some of it was old paper work from the trucking company I owned  for 15 years.I did find 5 or 6 boxes of old toys that belong to me as a child, trucks and cars mainly.

004

The trash pile.

005

By the time we got done and put things back the loft was empty and this is all that's left in there. One more thing on the list is done.We still have a lot of painting to do but winter is coming and that will keep us inside to paint.

006

Friday evening we cooked out and had happy hour around the camp fire.

Saturday started out cloudy,we took a truck load of trash from the shed to the church dumpster and then out to  my brother’s house to help him install a new light fixture and see my mom.

Mon’s not doing to well her Alzheimer is getting worse she can hardly talk its just babble and she couldn't tell you where she is our what day it is.

Its sad to watch her go thru this. Been raining off and on most the afternoon and evening.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

WEDNESDAY FUNNY

Gotta love a lady with a sense of humor!!  And the cool thing is her kids honored her wishes!!

From a lady online.  A friend of hers died who had a great sense of humor and always used to say that when she died she wanted a parking meter on her grave that says 'Expired.'  So her nephew got her one on eBay!  She said that the lady's grave is right by the road so everyone can see it and many people have stopped to get a chuckle..

Notice that she died on her birthday

Please,

Give us a sense of humor.

Give us the grace to see a joke,

To get some humor out of life,

And pass it on to other folk.

The irony of life is that, by the time

you're old enough to know your way

around, you're not going anywhere.

WHAT A WEEK

I came down with some kind virus bug last weekend and it has kicked my a%$ I was off work Monday and Tuesday. All I got done those two days was sleeping.Went back to work Wednesday and Thursday and off Friday and Saturday.

I do feel better each day, but Friday I was accused by Angela that I had passed the virus on to her.Do I look like that kind of guy?

So all work on the house and any cleaning out junk came to a stop. Saturday with us feeling like slugs I worked on my jewelry, here is a sample of what I have left.I have made several for Angela and my granddaughter. Hopefully this week we can get back to normal what ever that is.

Here is some pictures of my work.Hope everyone had a good weekend and has a great week.  Thanks for stopping by.

A WEDNESDAY FUNNY

The Parrot That Wouldn't Shut Up

Marty, an RVer from Portland, travels in his motorhome with a talkative but foul-mouthed parrot. One day in a campground near Albuquerque, New Mexico, the bird's swearing got to be too much. So Marty grabbed it by the throat and yelled "Stop it!" But only minutes later, the bird was swearing again.

The next day, the bird yelled so loudly that the couple next door in a big fifth wheel stopped by to demand its silence. Desperate, Marty locked the bird in a kitchen cabinet. But it didn't help: the bird kept right on swearing. The next day, the bird was even worse. So, as a last resort, Marty tossed it into his spacious  freezer. After five minutes, all was quiet. Worried the bird might be freezing, Marty took it out. "I'm sorry," confessed the suddenly polite bird. "I promise to never swear again."

Marty was astonished. He couldn't understand the change in attitude.

"By the way," asked the parrot, "what did the chicken do?"

I think this is in Sandwich, IL?

GRANDPARENTS DAY

Today is grandparents day so Angela surprised me Friday with a weekend of the grand's.

011

012

And papa surprised  them with a bad head cold and just not up to it. I was just a growly bear just like here in the picture trying to get the camera back from one of them.

003

Just not much to say tonight, time for more medication and a nap.

P.S. Be careful  I think Al from the Bayfield Bunch is passing this bug around through his blog.

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY

A WEDNESDAY FUNNY

Mistaken positioning

Joe and Ed, both from Duluth, Minnesota, were standing in the shallow end of a swimming pool at the Fountain of Youth RV park at California's Salton Sea, discussing how happy they were to be in sunny California rather than being back in frigid Minnesota. As they were talking, Ed noticed something funny about his friend's ear. "Joe," he said, "do you know you've got a suppository in your left ear?" Startled, Joe replied, "I have a suppository in my ear???"
"That's right," said Ed, "you have a suppository in your ear."
Joe immediately pulled it out, then said, "Thanks, buddy. I'm glad you saw this thing. Now I know where I put my hearing aid."

ARE PICTURES WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS?

First I want to thank Mike Mills for taken me to half a hundred on the  followers list .

Hope the title is correct because I’m a man of few words.

I like to let the pictures tell my story. What I need is a better camera and be able to use it.

As I talked about in a earlier blog I was starting to learn and experiment with making silverware jewelry. Here is a view of what I’ve done so far. It’s not as easy as I had thought trying to bend the silverware in to shape’s.

003

Saturday after spending the day starting on another bed room, pealing wall paper off the wall and preparing it for painting and a make over. We cooked some burgers on the grill with a cast iron grill on top. This make the best burgers you can imagine, you get the hickory smoke flavor and they stay juicy.

 001 002

All that's missing here is my cold drink!!

003

After dinner we had a camp fire on the deck and watch the sunset and had a couple cocktails.

004

The fire had Angela in a trance, she loves watching a  fire and dreaming about being on the road.

005 006

Mad Max in his usual state. Must have kept him up to late with the camp fire. Sure not from being over worked!

007

009

Sunday we attended the wedding of my nephew. It was an outdoor event  in the court yard of a old warehouse.

030

Monday started out with mowing the lawn and then painting the ceiling in the room we are starting to paint.

Then hauled a pickup load to the dumpster at church. My brother called and had a plumbing problem,so I put some ribs on to smoke and went to fixed his plumbing.
