Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Merry Christmas

My dear precious Jesus, I did not mean to take your place,
I only bring toys and things and you bring love and grace.
People give me lists of wishes and hope that they came true;
But you hear prayers of the heart and promise your will to do.
Children try to be good and not to cry when I am coming to town;...

But you love them unconditionally and that love will abound.
I leave only a bag of toys and temporary joy for a season;
But you leave a heart of love, full of purpose and reasons.
I have a lot of believers and what one might call fame;
But I never healed the blind or tried to help the lame.
I have rosy cheeks and a voice full of laughter;
But no nail—scarred hands or a promise of the hereafter.
You may find several of me in town or at a mall;
But there is only one omnipotent you, to answer a sinner’s call.
And so, my dear precious Jesus, I kneel here to pray;
To worship and adore you on this, your holy birthday.

Day Trips

We bought a book called Stone Cabins from the naked book seller http://jpgmag.com/photos/712137 click link to see.

The book has a list of 19 day trips around the "Q" to see old stone cabins and ghost towns and mines. We have done the first one and found this old house up in the hills.

Angela trying to ski down hill..

This is called Spanish Wall.

Kinda looks like a Dodge commercial .

Not a bad little fixer upper you think?

It's got a great view.

Angela likes the idea not having to clean the windows.

There is a active mine on this site also.

Only 18 more day trips to go. Thing's here in Q are picking up and the flea markets are popping up everyday and the desert rats(RV'ers) are moving in.

Made It To The "Q"

We left the Yuma area Tuesday and drove 60 miles north to the "Q". Angela was done with the dentist in Mexico. We both got new glasses and Angela got a new smile.

We have been camping on BLM land that means no electricity no water hookup no sewer hookup. Just our generator and the blue boy. It was not bad at all, we had a sewer dump and fresh water about a 1/2 mile down the road. A lot of the desert rats that have done this type of camping for a lot of years have solar  and toys to go with it.

Some pictures of Mexico

The best one is being back on the US side of the border.

We are now at the "Q" camping on BLM land about 2 miles from town. It kinda  looks like Mexico with all flee market tents everywhere.

We have been out checking out the town to find the food stores and propane and liquor store ect. We plan to be here till April. Then we will start heading north we have to be in South Dakota May 1 for our summer gig till September and then to Kansas City for the month of October and then south again.   I will post some pictures of our site soon.

All most for got the pictures of our desert happy hour.

The weather has been great in the afternoon.
