Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Think We Found It

Friday we took a ride to downtown Kansas City to check out the RV show. This years show seemed smaller than ones in the past. There was fewer RV’s and fewer vendors,if course there is always the siding and window vendor’s,I was never sure what they had to do with rving.

    In years passed it was so crowed you could hardly walk down the isles and be able to get inside the rv’s, I guess the economy is still slow in bouncing back.

001

Angela checking out the kitchen in one of the fifth wheels.

002

Not sure what she is up to here,maybe looking for the check book to buy this one. Not

004

The fiver we still are in love with is the Montana 3750FL we love the floor plan the best, with the living room up front where the bedroom usually is. We like the way its divided with the living room then stepping down into the kitchen then the bathroom and the bedroom in the back.It’s like having four separate rooms. We also like having the two outside doors. The only draw back I can see is it doesn't have a very big basement,but has a lot of storage up stair’s.

This savory looking couple trying out one of the two couch’s and thinking about living full time in this rig.

017

We really like the big window in the bedroom looking out the back.

We feel this model is the one for us (as of right now) if anyone has any pros or cons please leave us a comment.

As we sit here waiting for a snow and ice storm to hit tonight thru Wednesday, we will keep on dreaming.

Wednesday Funny

TODAY  IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN, YET THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE, SO ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.

Observations on Growing Older

~Your kids are becoming you...and you don't like them...but your grandchildren are perfect!

~Going out is good..
Coming home is better!

~When people say you look "Great"... they add "for your age!"

~When you needed the discount, you paid full price.
Now you get discounts on everything...
movies, hotels, flights, but you're too tired to use them.

~You forget names .... but it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you!!!

~The 5 pounds you wanted to lose is now 15 and you have a better chance of losing your keys than the 15 pounds.

~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... especially golf.

~Your spouse is counting on you to remember things you don't remember.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.

~Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than he does in bed. It's called his "pre-sleep".

~Remember when your mother said,
"Wear clean underwear in case you GET in an accident"?
Now you bring clean underwear in case you HAVE an accident!

~You used to say,
"I hope my kids GET married...
Now, "I hope they STAY married!"

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch..

~When GOOGLE, ipod, email, modem ....
were unheard of, and a mouse was something that made you climb on a table.

~You tend to use more 4 letter words ...
"what?"..."when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~Your husband has a night out with the guys,
but he's home by 9:00 P.M. Next week it will be 8:30 P..M.

~You read 100 pages into a book before you realize you've read it.

~Notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody whispers.

~Now that your husband has retired ....
you'd give anything if he'd find a job!

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet ...
2 of which you will never wear.

~~~~But old is good in some things:
old songs,
old movies,
And best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!
Dreaming Of Warmer Days
Woke to this Thursday morning about 8 to 12 inch snow fall,had another snow day off from work witch gave me a 3 day weekend. As I write this at 5am Sunday its snowing again. yuck  This is getting old real fast. My neighbor can not stand to have snow on his drive way and was out there at 3am cleaning it,as for me the only thing I shovel is the deck as for the rest I don’t touch I have four wheel drive and a garage to park in. I have this theory that God put it there for a reason so he will take it away.I know it doesn’t make much since but hey at least I won’t have a heart attack shoveling it. I guess you can say I HATE SNOW!!
Wednesday Funny
Spotted in Seattle: a motorhome towing a small car with this sign on its back window: "I'm a good car. I go where I'm towed to go." -- Seattle Times
When you get an urge. . .
Sometimes when you're driving down the highway in your motorhome you get real hungry. And you might get an urge for a special food -- like cottage cheese, for example! Well, in California, so many motorists crave cottage cheese that the state highway department has set up special cottage cheese directional signs. You think we're kidding? Do pictures lie?
The good ol' days
A couple of elderly RVers who'd recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary were sitting on the sofa in their Airstream motorhome, when the wife said, "Dear, do you remember how you used to sit close to me?" He moved over and sat close to her.
"Dear," she continued, "do you remember how you used to hold me tight?" He reached over and held her tight.
"And," she went on, "do you remember how you used to hug me and kiss me and nibble on my ear?" With that, her husband got up and started to walk toward the rear of the motorhome.
"Where are you going?" she asked. "Well," answered the husband, "I have to get my teeth."
Sunny and 75 in Missouri
I knew that would get your attention,really it’s only 68 here in the house.
The week started out with snow and cold the only good thing was we got Monday and Tuesday off because of the weather,it’s nice working for a church. It’s really great they would have a misfit like me working there. We also get this Monday off for Martin Luther King, birthday it’s kind of like working at a bank with all the holiday’s we get off.
Anyway Tuesday it was so cold.   How cold was  it?  it was so cold I had to bring the brass monkey in. Ok I know that was lame, but hey that was the best I can come up with..
brass01
Looks like I didn’t bring him in soon enough..
Today I thought about going to the hot tub and pool for a quick dip just like Rick  Rick & Paulette's  RV Travels . I put my Speedo swim suit on and stepped outside and BURR it was cold. I changed my mine real quick, I must have gotten wrapped upped  reading  Ricks blog. Yes that is a hot tub on the right top deck and that is a pool lower left deck under all the snow.
001
We hope everyone has a good and safe week and for the ones of us that are in the deep freezer stay warm and for the ones that are in the warm weather keep writing and sending us pictures so that we can dream and live thru you.
NFL SUNDAY
KC3
The city of Kansas City has turned to a sea of red this week. Just in case you have been out of touch or boondocking and have not heard the Kansas City Chiefs are the 2010 AFC West Division Champions. They are playing the Baltimore Ravens here in Kansas City  Sunday at 12:00 PM CST at Arrowhead Stadium. And if you want a ticket  you better dig real deep.
Chiefs fans take there tailgating real serious they will line up at the gates early and  wait to pay the $22 parking fee . The gates open 3 1/2 hours before game time and they come in with all kinds of equipment for the party. If course it’s KC the Bar-B-Que capital of the world you won’t be able to see the cars in parking lot with all the BBQ smoke.
KC5
Arrowhead Stadium is one of if not the loudest fan stadium in the NFL and I think the best looking out door stadium in the country. The stadium opened in 1972 and last year under went a major remodeling.
KC6
Kansas City is going in to the game a 3 point under dog so they better bring a couple cases of this.
KC4
So they can do this
GO CHIEFS!!!!!
WEDNESDAY FUNNY
Somewhere near  Rochester,  New York, Ed set out to bag his buck at 5:30 a.m.   By 11:30 a.m., he was exhausted and hungry--and still no buck.    At 12 noon, the mighty hunter Ed guards the remains of his lunch .
While a passer-by snaps a quiet photo  while trying not to startle the deer with a belly laugh.
Please Pass The Alka-Seltzer
After eating my way thru Christmas and New Years. The cardiologist I saw this week wants me to loose 10 to 15 pounds, I’m 6’ tall and weight 200 pounds. I told her that may be hard to do since I work for a church and there’s always something to eat at a church.
The doctor said my stress test came back and everything looked good,now every morning I take 7 pills to start my day a Cholesterol pill ,something for my triglycerides,3 fish oil,vitamin D,baby aspirin and  A partridge in a pear tree.
We had a good Christmas and New Years, glad it’s over and we can try to get back to normal what ever that is.  Angela has been sick most of the week so we just hung low around the house and watched TV.
We are looking forward to the Mid-America RV Show coming January 27 – 30 here in Kansas City we are still trying to figure out what 5th wheel we want to buy to live in fulltime. We still like the Montana 3750FL with the front living room and the 5 slides. We are still not sure so we will keep looking. We have thought about looking at one that is  used (1-2years ) from someone that has a truck and rv   they need to unload,I would like to find one with solar and generator set up.
If fuel prices don’t stop climbing we may have to rethink are plans or just not travel as much and head south in the winter and sit out in the desert then go north to the mountains in the summer. I’d guess we won’t be the only ones that can not afford the fuel to ride around, even if we start out debt free like we will .
I have rambled long enough hope everyone has a great week where ever you are or going.
