Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Please Pass The Alka-Seltzer

After eating my way thru Christmas and New Years. The cardiologist I saw this week wants me to loose 10 to 15 pounds, I’m 6’ tall and weight 200 pounds. I told her that may be hard to do since I work for a church and there’s always something to eat at a church.

The doctor said my stress test came back and everything looked good, now every morning I take 7 pills to start my day a Cholesterol pill ,something for my triglycerides,3 fish oil, vitamin D,baby aspirin and  A partridge in a pear tree.

We had a good Christmas and New Years, glad it’s over and we can try to get back to normal what ever that is.  Angela has been sick most of the week so we just hung low around the house and watched TV.

We are looking forward to the Mid-America RV Show coming January 27 – 30 here in Kansas City we are still trying to figure out what 5th wheel we want to buy to live in fulltime. We still like the Montana 3750FL with the front living room and the 5 slides. We are still not sure so we will keep looking. We have thought about looking at one that is  used (1-2years ) from someone that has a truck and rv   they need to unload,I would like to find one with solar and generator set up.

If fuel prices don’t stop climbing we may have to rethink are plans or just not travel as much and head south in the winter and sit out in the desert then go north to the mountains in the summer. I’d guess we won’t be the only ones that can not afford the fuel to ride around, even if we start out debt free like we will .

I have rambled long enough hope everyone has a great week where ever you are or going.

You will get there, Kenny and Angela. The dream may shift a bit, but it will come true! Debt free is the way to go!

I thought weight standards would go away when I retired. I am 6-2 and 205 and according to the BMI tables I am still fat! Need to get below 190 to not be fat! Who knew?

We will never allow the price of gas to stop us from traveling as much as we do. Life is way too short to let it pass us by.

You will end up doing whatever is right for you both, just as we do.

Hey,,,, McGuyver was 200 lbs. and 6' tall...His BP was off the charts..He started walking 2 miles a day (takes 1/2 hour if you do it right) and dropped 30 lbs in a year...Also..watch the white flour and sugar...whole wheats and grains...He never did give up the beer..but he is now 170 lbs...and his cardiologist thinks he is Superman...YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Oh my, two subjects that I wish were not a concern. Both of us need to drop some pounds and we are hating the cost of diesel. Seems every day it is getting bumped up.

Hope both of you are feeling fit by now.

You do what you have to do! :) Hang in there.

Only 10 to 15 pounds? I need to drop a lot more than that!

The fish oil and vitamin D are very good for you. I take a cholesterol too, but the doc insists I take it in the evening. Something about the fact that the liver generates cholesterol in the night.

Regular gas is at $3.35 here in California today. I have been hearing about the possibility of $5.00 before year end. I can see that happening.

I'm 5'11 now but I figure if I can just grow 3 or 4 more inches taller then I'll be just about right for my weight!!

Hi Kenny & Angela

Sorry to hear Angela is still not feeling well. Sure hope she feels better soon. Kenny, check with your pharmacist about taking your Cholesteroal medicine in the AM...I was told it was best to take mine at night. Just a suggestion.

Have a good week. We like to go to different RV shows to get new ideas for our Class A and just see what's out there.

Take care and have a great week.

Our major concern, other than Diesel is health care costs, We would be out the door now if we had a way to pay for health insurance for a couple years until we are both eligible for Medicare.Donna is facing working until we can find some other alternative to her health insurance. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

Hang in there. You will end up getting the RV that suits you best. That's what we did. Starting out debt free is the only way I would go. We find staying a month in one place is not too bad, and allows you to save on lot rent. In the winter we stay longer, but you want to pick your park wisely for that. Nothing wrong with a used unit. Most are completely steam cleaned before you ever see them.
