Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Dreaming

We have had great fall like weather this week. I did get some maintenance done on the 5th wheel and have a little more to do before winter sets in.

We had Friday night karaoke here in the trailer hood and even after a few cocktails the girls thought they sounded good. And of course they did.

007

Saturday not a lot got done except enjoying the nice weather and a little TV outside and maybe a little nap here and there.

008

Even Max got in on a little of the good life..

010

Every once in awhile Max likes to get his cabana out and enjoy  the day..

005

While we were outside enjoying the day I was doing something productive by keeping my eye on this pork butt smoking on the grill.

011

I just woke up from that dream and now I’m sitting in my office at work after having a few days off and dreaming about the next weekend off.

We Made It

We left Thursday morning at 7:30 and had to stop at a trailer repair shop for a 8:00 appointment to have the breaks check because I had none.

Ended up we needed all new wheel bearings and had some wielding  done. Got out of there $350 lighter and headed to Knob Noster State Park.

001

Got up early and headed the 15 miles to Sedalia MO and the Missouri State Fair Ground for the Escapees Rally.

When I started to set up and I already knew the battery was weak on the 5th wheel and was hoping to get by with it. Well $100 later and a new battery we got set up.

This is a look of our street and the RV’s just keep coming and coming.I have never seen so many in one place.

002

This is like a Woodstock for old people…

003

If anyone out there is coming please look us up we are in site R-3. Knock on the door and hear our barking door bell or is that 2 dumb bells barking.

We Are Learning

We have been reading blogs and everything thing we can find to learn about this thing called “Full Timing” .

What we learned this week was you meet some of the nicest people you could every think you could. We have read blogs about people meeting people and really hit it off and having things in common and then it’s time to tell them see you down the road.

Well Saturday we had to do that.  we have met some great people here in the park. We had to tell Lee,Bill and Stella goodbye today.

Bill and Stella were work campers here and are now headed out to travel. 001

Lee was here working as a inspector on a pipe line and the job was done here and he had to  move to New Orleans for the next job.

One night sitting outside having a few beers I was telling Lee about a trailer hitch that I had and needed put on the back of the 5er. So  the next night when he got home from work he was over to our camp site and was ready to put it on for me. Here is the end result.

002

That is a rack for my Honda Scooter  to ride on. What a guy for getting it put on for us.

This week we are going to prepare to leave Thursday for

EscapadeWEBHighlight

Thursday morning we have a appointment to have the brakes checked on the 5er and have some wielding done on it. Then we will head to Knob Noster State Park for the night and then to Sedalia on Friday morning.

If anybody that is coming would like to meet up send us a e-mail  and we will e-mail our site number and cell phone number. We would love to meet as many bloggers as we can.

RED SKELTON'S RECIPE
FOR THE PERFECT MARRIAGE

image001

1. Two times a week we go to a nice restaurant, have a
little beverage, good food and companionship
She goes on Tuesdays; I go on Fridays.

2.... We also sleep in separate beds.
Hers is in California , and mine is in Texas ..

3. I take my wife everywhere....
but she keeps finding her way back.

4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary.
"Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.
So I suggested the kitchen.

5. We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops.

6. She has an electric blender, electric
toaster and electric bread maker.
She said "There are too many gadgets, and no place
to sit down!" So I bought her an electric chair.

7. My wife told me the car wasn't running well
because there was water in the carburetor.
I asked where the car was. She told me, "In the lake."

8. She got a mud pack, and looked great for two days.
Then the mud fell off.

9. She ran after the garbage truck, yelling, "Am I too late
for the garbage?" The driver said, "No, jump in!"

10. Remember: Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.

11. I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her
first name was?Always.

12. I haven't spoken to my wife in 18 months
I don't like to interrupt her.

13. The last fight was my fault though.
My wife asked, "What's on the TV?"
I said, "Dust!"

Can't you just hear him say all of these?
I love it........these were the good old days
when humor didn't have to start with a four letter word. It was just clean and simple fun.?
And he always ended his programs with the words, "God Bless."

Never A Dull Moment

The week started out with some excitement here in the hood.

Monday night someone stole one of the work campers truck from the over flow lot by the office. I had my Dodge 3500 park down there also. When I found out Tuesday  about the truck being stolen  I went down and brought my truck up by the 5th wheel.

It didn’t stop there, Wednesday morning we found out that some one stole two jet ski’s on one trailer Tuesday night.

The police came and made out a report and one of the officers drove around the camp ground. He drove up a gravel road where they have tent and little cabin sites. He happened to run a cross a working meth lab so we think it was all related. The police did find the truck and jet ski about 35 miles from here still in tacked.

Just when you think your safe and living the good life bad things still go on.

I had 4 days off and spent Friday and Saturday sitting inside watching the left over storm and rain from the hurricane.

Late Saturday after noon the rain stop  and then a tree fell on the power lines and out went the lights. It took them about 2 hours to get it fixed.

Sunday we had a cook out with some of the neighbors. None of us went away hungry.

004

Check out this electric smoker they had.

003

Today is labor day so we are not going to do any laboring. Think we’ll take the hounds to the dog park and let them run.

Here is the view from the dinning table window.
