Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

My Mom

Today is a sad and happy day for us as my mom passed away this morning at the nursing home she has been living at since April.

It is sad just for us that are left behind and it is a happy day for her as she had suffered with Alzheimer's for several year’s now and is now at peace and out of her own living hell she has been living in.

We will be busy for the next few day’s.

Me and mom mother’s day 2011

Mother's Day 2011 003

My mom Rosemary 1925 – 2011 rest in peace.

Kenny, Please know that you and Angela and family are in our thoughts and prayers. Although it is a joyous time for your mom, it still hurts. It is a hurt that gets better but you will always wish you could talk with her one more time...Heaven brings that back to us.
Take care and God Bless!

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope memories of better days gone by will help bring healing.

My dad suffers from Alzheimers. I understand the conflicting emotions, so well.

I am sorry for you, but happy for your mom. I understand, believe me. In 1998, my mother died while I was out of town. When I got back, my grandmother died. (17 hours after my mom). I do understand. God bless you all.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Her suffering has ended and that should bring some comfort. It is still a huge loss no matter what the circumstances are. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Kenny, so sorry for your loss. My mother suffered from Alzheimer's before she passed away. It's been over 20 years now but I still remember the feelings and can relate to how you are feeling now. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

As many know, my Mom died 4 weeks ago yesterday. Therefore, I understand so well how you are feeling. I was fortunate in that Mom was completely aware of everything until the last. Her memory was better than mine! I've never had to deal with a loved one having Alzheimers. It must be a great burden and challenge. I am sure you did all you could to make her comfortable and feel loved.

Hugs and condolences to you and yours.

I know how hard it is to loose a parent. My mom was very sick a few weeks ago and we feared we would loose her, but she recovered and is fine for now. 14 years ago we lost my wife's dad at the early age of 72.
Our thoughts are with you!

So sorry to hear of your loss. I have some idea of how you feel, as my mother died from that same terrible disease 5 years ago.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I personally know how it feels as I lost my mother to Alzheimer's almost 2 years ago. I know that she is is a better place now and that makes a big difference to me. I know that she wasn't happy about her life at the end and it was so sad to see such a strong and spry woman wither away. It is always so nice to have all the good memories that will stay with you for the rest of your life. I love that picture of you and your mother.

Kenny, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My Mom also had Alzheimer's and it was a relief when she was finally released from this earthly life. I miss her and I know you always will to. But we have wonderful memories to always take with us.
