Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Deadwood and Sturgis And Mount Rushmore

Friday we trip to Deadwood,SD nice town with a lot of history and a lot of people. This weekend is Wild Bill Hickock days and the little town was full. We didn’t hang around long. We will come back at a later time.

We then headed over to Sturgis,SD. I think everybody in town was over in Deadwood. It looked like the town was quite except for when bike week hits. The saloons are very large so you can tell they have a lot of people.

We were close to Mount Rushmore in April on our way up to Sturgeon Lake, Saskatchewa but it was too much of a detour to make the side trip there. Thanks for you pictures of it, now I want to go all that much more.

Sturgis looks like a very interesting place, I love how they have incorporated the old buses and 18 wheelers into signs and such.

I wouldn't have stayed in Deadwood either. I just cannot handle all the people. But I'm glad you got to at least see it and especially Mt. Rushmore. Pretty incredible.

Great places but always crowded.

Since I don't care for motorcycles, I've only driven past Sturgis.

Ditto in staying in Deadwood. It's changed. Don't like it anymore. Once did. Enough said!

I especially want to return to the town of Rapid City to see all the different bronzes of the Presidents located on the street corners. . .I only got to see a couple when we were there. . .
