Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Missouri Show Down

Friday night we went to the KC Chiefs and St. Louis Rams  football game with our next door neighbor’s. It was a pre season game  called the governors cup. Sad to say but KC lost 10 to 14.

Tailgating is a big part of the before game. You meet all kinds of people  in the parking lot and the smell of food cooking on the grills.

If you have never been thru Kansas City on I-70 you have mist the twin stadiums of the KC Royals baseball and the KC Chiefs football teams.

The stadiums are very up to date and beautiful.

We had a great time tailgating and being in the stadium.BUT when we got in the stadium and saw $8.00 for a beer and $4.50 for a bottle of water,we had to past on that and thought that was outrageous and just plain highway  robbery .

Our first sign we had should have been the cost to park $27.00 and then walk a half mile to the gate and then another half mile to our seat.

This is a list of  the cost to go to a game like the old Visa TV commercial .

Chiefs Game

Game ticket     $37.70 x 2 = $75.40

Parking                                 $27.00

Chiefs T-Shirt  $20.00 x 2 = $40.00

Chiefs Hat                            $15.00

Food and Beer For

Tail gate Party                       $40.00

                                     Total       $197.40

Good friends,good food PRICELESS!!!

ONE DAY CLOSER TO OUR DREAM

I think the $27 to park was outrageous also. But the experience would definitely be worth it. Of course, for us it would need to be a Redskins game.

Thanks for the price breakdown. I often wondered what it would cost these days to go to a football game.

At least the actual game tickets were very reasonable.

Glad you had a good time even with those prices. Those beer prices would sure help keep the drinking in moderation too!

I remember in 1980's we got single game Bears tickets for $17.00 each...Those days are long gone...Now you cannot even tailgate only in one little area....We watch from home..the beer is cheaper.

I guess it is a good thing we are not really football fans, but the tailgate party sure looks like fun.

At least the T-shirts were the correct price and you have them for more than a few hours. But being with friends is really the bottom line.
