Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Week Two

We have just finished our second week full timing in the driveway, and we are both still alive and doing well.

I took this past week off work and we finished clearing out things and moving something's to the garage and several pickup loads to the dumpster.

Next step is to do a little touch up paint here and there and call the carpet man out to bid on that.

All of a sudden there are two other houses on the block same side of the street for sale, not sure what that means good or bad.

It’s back to work today so I can rest up from the past week off.

ONE DAY CLOSER TO OUR DREAM

The same thing happened to us. We put the house up and the house NEXT DOOR went up for sale. The people had passed away so we totally understood but weren't happy with the timing. We had totally different houses so it there really wasn't any competition. I hope that is the case with you two. Enjoy your Sunday.

How well I remember needing a vacation to rest up from a vacation. Looks like you over in MO will get some of what we got last two days in OK. Stay safe!

hope that the more that there is for sale is good for the purchaser but maybe is it good for the seller?..depends on the competition, I guess!

Tracy and I are watching your transition to full timing with great anticipation as we too hope to do the same someday. Best of luck for a quick and profitable sale!

Yep, we need to get on the road and away from all of this yard work, it's killing me. Good luck with selling your home...It's nice not to be living in it..it stays cleaner that way, for sure..

I remember the first days of FT. We weren't in the driveway but were still in our home town working. It is a great way to start. You get a chance to get use to your rig before taking off to places unknown. Good luck with the house. It just takes one buyer and you never know when someone will fall in love with your house.

I can well understand the excitement you are going through,,,enjoy every minute of it because it is an excitememnt you willremember for a LONG time. We are on the other end of the stick and coming off 15 years of full timing and believe me it was the greatest time of our lives...It will be yours too!!!

I wish you well on your plans to full timing. Helen and I spent four months in Mexico and it assured us that full time wouldn't work for us. We would need a motorhome about 200 feet long to get by. It's nice to travel, but the house in Florida is HOME. Of course, we've been home a month now, so we're ready to travel again.

How exciting!! So glad you are able to live in the RV while the house is on the market. That will help.
Sorry a few houses hit the market. Timing not good but it is what it is. It could help you..depending on their house/price!! Stay positive...things have a way of working out just right!!

Know that you are not alone in your housing situation. We too are in the same boat, as someone said earlier "it is what is". We decided to alter our plan because we aren't getting younger and we don't see an improvement in the housing mkt until a change from the present administration. We are going to do more workamping than originally planned until we decide if we are going to rent out our house. Do what you have to do. :)
