Last week I was talking about how much Angela and I missed camping and being outdoors. Well I was looking thru Craigslist and came upon this 1988 Tioga 26 ft. camper with 52xxx miles.
We drove the 30 mile’s to take a look at it, a older gentleman (mid 70’s) and his wife were selling it because they could no longer go camping because of health problem’s. They were the second owner, the first owner had passed away and his wife sold it to them.
They had all the original paper work from the time it was first sold to the first owner paid $45000.00 for it in 1988. We drove it down the interstate and it purred like a kitten with its 460 engine it cruse right along at 65.
When we got back to his house I knew I had to have it,so I gave him a low ball offer to get it started,I didn’t think he would take it but we had to start some where. He came back and bumped it up just $200 and I stuck my hand out and said deal.
I didn't even know if everything work or not because he had no way to plug it in to see,but you know when you get that gut feeling and by the way it was taken care of and we could tell the seller was being honest, you just know.
This thing even has a generator Onan 4.0 with only 111 hours,he said he could not get it started, but he would take it in and get it going. We wrote him a check and told him when the check cleared and he got the generator running to give me a call and we would come and get it.
Thursday we got the call that it was ready to be picked up,we could hardly wait to get it home. Friday Angela spent the day cleaning and dusting and moving some of our stuff in.
So here is our new (to us) Tioga..
Can’t wait for our shake down trip in a week our two.
ONE DAY CLOSER TO OUR DREAM

Wow that is a neat looking rig. Now that your back in the RV business, when we get back from our trip to Wisconsin, how about we meet after the 4th of July holiday is over (some time in July) in Columbia at Cottonwoods, and we can do the Columbia Dinner Train. Rigg's and Annie can meet also.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
Congratualtions! My sister and b-i-l had a similar Tioga, and spent many happy times in it. :)
Dang! How come I've been looking for over a year and haven't found one and you guys open the classifieds and walk away with such a sweet deal! I'm insanely jealous, but very happy for you!

WOW, Nice rig! Good things happen to good people. I think I am going to start referring to Dod as a "motorhut" instead of a motorhome.
ITS a Dilly!! Congrats on a great find!!
Congratulations! Now you can have a piece of the dream while you are waiting. We started out with a 1990 Jamboree Rallye, very similar to your new-to-you Tioga, except that ours didn't have a couch. Be sure that your cabover area is well-caulked--they are notorious for leaking.
I look forward to hearing all about your new adventures in Tioga!
Congratulations! What a sweet find! We hope you enjoy many happy, fun, safe, trouble-free miles.
YEEEEEE HAW!!!! SOOO HAPPY FOR YOU TWO...YOU GOT A SWEET DEAL, AND NOW YOU CAN TAKE LITTLE NIBBLES OUT OF THE FULL TIME RV PIE! A GREAT FIND FOR SOME GREAT PEOPLE!!!!
Congrats! What a great looking, nice clean rig. It's a beauty. Glad to hear you got a great deal too, that's a nice way to start!
Looks good. I would be a little shy about it's age, but that is because I'm just not very mechanical and neither is my husband. If it has been taken care of it should be great for you.
I am so happy for you two. It is so cute and looks to be in excellent condition. Way to go.... :)
Wow, such a deal and it looks really nice. Congratulations!!
Great looking rig!! Have fun and enjoy being back on the road.
congrats on your 'new to you' Rv!!..way to go!
That looks like a nice rig. Hope you have many happy trips in it.
Congrats! I am sure you will enjoy it. You pictures brought back a lot of memories. Our second motorhome and our first new one was a 1988 Tioga Arrow with what looks like your floor plan.
We had a lot of fun with ours, and I am sure you will with yours!
What a great find - enjoy!
Congratulations! We're with Dave, good things happen to good people. You are going to enjoy yourselves so much over the summer taking little trips here and there.
Enjoy!
