The RVers Prayer
Heavenly Father, look down on us your humble, obedient tourist servants, who are
doomed to travel this earth, taking photographs, sending postcards, and buying
souvenirs.
We beseech you, O Lord, to see that our campsite is ready for us when we arrive, and
that there is space available for us whether we have made a reservation or not. Give us
this day divine guidance in our driving. We pray that every site we receive shall be a
pull-thru, with perfect internet connections and shade. But no trees, as they interfere
with our satellite reception.
Lead us to good, inexpensive restaurants, where the wine and a show are included in the
price of the meal. Make the natives love us for what we are and not for what we can
contribute to their worldly goods. Grant us the strength to visit the museums, shows,
activities, and numerous buffets. And if we should skip a “must see” item, like Shoji’s
bathrooms, to take a nap after lunch, have mercy on us for our flesh is weak.
Dear God, protect our wives from bargains they don’t need or can’t afford. Lead them
not into temptation for they know not what they do. Almighty Father, keep our
husbands from looking at all the dancers and comparing them to us. Save them from
making fools of themselves on stage, and please protect us from sitting in the front row.
Above all, please do not forgive them their trespasses, for they know exactly what they
do.
And when our travels are over, grant us the favour of finding someone who will look at
our holiday photos and listen to our stories for hours on end, so that our lives as tourists
will not have been in vain.
AMEN.

I need a love button for this one.
Love the part about finding a campsite with lots of shade, but no trees to block the satellite. My idea of a perfect site!
Brilliant!
Well put...every darn thing we wish for is in that prayer. Well, maybe it should also say "..and please provide a liquor store within driving distance"... ;-)
Love it!
And that the "camphosts" will be friendly and helpful. :)))
