Friday we need to get out of the house for a while from all the painting and fixing and all the planning, after all we have till spring to get it all done. But of course we want it all done right now!!
After living here in Kansas City all our life and never been to, we went to see the National WWI Museum in downtown KC.

In 2004 the Museum was designated by Congress as the United States official World War I Museum, opening to the public on December 2, 2006, as the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial. The Museum presents a comprehensive interpretation of World War I (1914-1919).
After spending about tow hours in the under ground museum and seeing so many WWI artifacts.
We then went up in the 217 foot tower overlooking downtown and man was it windy on the top, blowing about 40mph.
Looking down on Union Station, the old train station.
At the far end of the entrance drive is where the “occupy KC protesters “ are camped out.
After that we went for a late lunch to the city’s market,as we drove thru downtown looking for a taco truck and didn’t see one we settled for. Burrito Brothers
We had a good day and it was good to get out in the sunshine.
Saturday it was back to work tearing out the rest of the carpet. Do you know what’s under all that old carpet it’s gross, we will never put carpet back in the 5th wheel when it’s time to change it.
I’m back to work Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,and off Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday.
ONE DAY CLOSER TO OUR DREAM

funny how must of us Americans forget about the neat things right in our own back yards...
Great view from the tower. I'll have to remember that museum if I'm ever in KC.
I am so glad to see that you are exploring your own neighborhood. We didn't get around to any of that until we retired, left town and then came back to visit. That museum has to go on our list.
Great photos of the view! Isn't it surprising how we just never manage the time to get out and about in our own neighborhoods and yet will drive clear across the country to see something that might be not as spectacular.
Super photo's and it is good to see what is in our backyard... Nice view of KC....
Don't work too hard now......
great views from the top!!..looked like it was beautiful day..albiet a cold one!!!..hope you had fun but now it't time to get back to work!!.have fun ripping out the carpet!!!
Great tour, did not know that museum was there:(
I love military stuff and didn't know that museum was so close to Illinois..A good stop off sometime, thanks for the tour...Soo, if you didn't put down carpet in your fiver, what would you use..wood floors and area rugs?? I'm a carpet person, it just makes me feel warmer.
Love the museum. We missed this our last time there. On our list for next time. Thanks.
Love that view from the top of the tower. It's always interesting to go and visit places in our own backyards - and then share them with others - thanks!!
Growing up not in NJ across the bridge about 20 miles from Philadelphia, it was not until entertaining visitors that I actually went to Independence Hall, etc. I think it is typical that people do not tour sites close to home. Looks like you found some good ones.
Nice view up there. Its good to take a break from hard work it gets you going again after some good fresh air.
I know the nasty junk under the carpet is awful.
